Measurement and Evaluation of Business Performance

This bachelor thesis focuses on the measurement and evaluation of the financial performance of Siemens, s.r.o. in the years 2016-2020. The thesis is divided into three parts. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts of financial analysis, its individual indicators as well as formulas for calculations. In the second, practical part, the financial analysis is performed on the basis of the assumptions and methods defined in the theoretical part. The third part offers suggestions for solving the identified problems that could improve the current financial situation.
Bankruptcy Prediction Modelling in Construction Business

The diploma thesis is aimed at creating a bankruptcy model for companies of the construction industry in the Czech Republic by using discriminant analysis. In the theoretical part, the concept of bankruptcy model is defined; this part is focused on the inclusion of bankruptcy models in economics, a look into their history, a description of selected models and a brief characteristic of the construction industry. In the practical part, the reliability of selected bankruptcy models is counted and a new bankruptcy model is built.

In the theoretical part are introduced analyzed models and methods used to model analysis. Here is explained the concept of bankruptcy, its origin and history, the definition of financial analysis and its methods. This section also describes a description of selected bankruptcy models and their limited reporting ability. In the practical part, the reliability of selected models is first evaluated and subsequently changes are proposed to improve reliability

Financial analysis of CSC Computer Sciences corporation

The goal of this bachelor thesis is the analysis and evaluation of an economic situation of american company CSC Computer Sciences s.r.o, which is occupied with outsourcing of their IT services. The company expanded the field of activity in the last couple of years in Czech republic thanks to favourable economic conditions. Standard methods of financial analysis are used in this thesis, among them being horizontal and vertical analysis, balance sheet rules, indicators of rentability, liquidity, activity and indebtedness, working capital analysis, Economic Value Added indicator and Du Pont's analysis. Subsequently Altman's model of Z-score and IN05 index of husband and wife Neumaier's is used to determine the prosperity or bankrupcy states. Established values are then compared to the industry in which the company falls into. The methods are described in the theoretical part and then applied in the practical part based on the information established from the annual reports of the company.
Financial analysis of the company Baťa, akciová společnost.

This diploma thesis provides insight into the world of financial analysis from both theoretical and practical point of view. The basic theoretical apparatus used in the financial analysis is defined in the first part of the thesis and it is applied in the second part on the practical example of the company Baťa, akciová společnost. Emphasis is placed primarily on the issue of accounting procedures, analysis of profitability, liquidity, activity, debt analysis and non-financial indicators. The analysis of intercompany comparisons as a part of finacial analysis is aimed to be one of the basic characteristics of the thesis. Analyzed company is compared both to the industry and its main competitors. In the context of a comprehensive assessment of the financial health of the company, the Altman's model, the IN05 model and test for value added is applied.
